Fifth Circular

Dear Colleagues,

We are several days before 16th International Workshop on Laser Ranging. Thank you all for your decision about participation in the Workshop in Poznan.
Now we have 120 presentations (see List of abstracts on the Workshop website) and near 150 participants (see list of delegates).

Registration:
All of you are registered. Sorry that your cards are not yet charged but this process just started. All of you which send registration form later or your cards are not correct, or bank transfer was not confirmed yet, will be paid in cash at registration desk in Sunday or Monday, 350 EUR for participant and 150 EUR for accompanying person. The confirmation you will obtained at registration desk.

Excursions:
Sorry, but two excursions are canceled: to Kornik (Monday) and Gniezno (Wednesday) due to small number of participants (below 10). The excursions around Poznan City (45 PLN) and to beautiful Torun City including Gniezno (210 PLN) will be realized. The payment will be in cash in Polish Zloty (PLN) at reception desk in Sunday or Monday. LOC can to arrange some individual trips for accompanying persons to places around Poznan or to Warsaw or Gdansk.

Program:
We have not yet detailed program of the Workshop due to late abstracts submission. The full program will be soon, probably tomorrow or in Friday. Sorry for some changes in the preliminary agenda but the Program Committee changed time schedule only in the cases where it was absolute necessary.

Weather:
The weather in Poznan in October is rather rainy, but sometimes is sunny. The temperature is between 5 to 10 degrees centigrade but also 20 degrees is possible. You remember about warm coats and umbrellas, especially in the visit in Borowiec Observatory, reception will be in the evening in open air.

Hotels:
Andersia hotel is placed 15 minutes from the city center (old market). The lunch and diner are avaiable in hotel restaurant Mosaica (ground floor) at special price (you ask for business lunch) 19 PLN, oposite to hotel is a large shopping centre, several fast restaurants are on the second floor. The car parking is under hotel, 50 PLN per day. The Andersia hotel (green tower) is behind Novotel (white tower), you don't confuse.
Jowita hotel is placed in the centre of the town, 20 minutes walking distance to Andersia hotel or by three trams lines (more detailed information is in the fourth circular). Please to remember that in the front of the hotel you don't find name Jowita, only inside, it is students dormitory but part of the building is for the University guests.
The Guest Rooms of the Polish Academy of Sciences are placed behind Opera hause in the centre of town, 20 min walking distance to Andersia hotel, also by the city bus line (no 71, every 15 minutes). The main entrance to hotel in the evening and night is closed, please to use back entrance on the left side of the building!

Airport:
Poznan airport is 5 km from the city center. The taxi stand is in the right side of the main airport hall. The city buses (no 59, or L) are before main exit, the tickets are available in the newspapers stand. The last stop of 59 line (Baltic stop) is just before main entrance to Jowita hotel. The buses are every 20 minutes.
When you use taxi you have to ask driver Zwierzyniecka 7 str. (Jowita hotel), or Wieniawskiego 17/19 str.(Guest Rooms PAS).

Railway station:
The main railway station is about 15 minutes from Andersia hotel and the Guest Rooms PAS, and 10 minutes from Jowita hotel. The taxi stand is on the left side before the main exit.
